It’s a shame that the recording industry associations think that file sharing has no merit and refuse to utilize the significant legal models already in place. If they do not adapt to the new ways, they will make themselves and the artists they purportedly serve irrelevant. Plenty of artists are marketing themselves directly and using the legal alternatives, recognizing that building a brand name can be done without the recording industry. Let’s hope to see more of that, so the recording industry’s tactics lose any influence they’ve had to this point.
